Unity, connectivity, and compassion are at the core of who we are.
A familiar phrase in Disciples' congregations is "in essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty, in all things charity."
WE PRACTICE AN OPEN COMMUNION TABLE
All are welcome to the Lord's Table for the sake of mission and for the sake of the world as the one family of God.
WE CELEBRATE THE ONENESS OF THE CHURCH
We are called to be one in Christ and to seek opportunities for common witness and service.
We value Christian unity by working alongside other faith communities to work for bringing about wholeness - healing and justice - in this world.
We value ecumenical partnerships and are part of the Parish Partners ministries.
WE MAINTAIN FREEDOM OF BELIEF
We are called to study and read scripture for ourselves. Rather than having tests of faith, and creedal statements, we critically and thoughtfully study scripture, taking into account the history and background- the context- in which it was written.
WE PRACTICE BELIEVER BAPTISM
Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward grace. A person makes the choice to follow God's call. Baptism is the basis of membership in the Church and also a mark that every person is called to serve God - the idea of the "priesthood of all believers."

The mission of First Christian Church is to enrich the lives of all people by providing a spiritual environment that encourages all to learn and grow in faith, by praising and worshiping God, and by spreading the Biblical message that Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior. As a congregation, we dedicate our unique resources to love and nurture all creation in service to God.
WHAT WE DO
Our faith is centered around the communion table where we come together to celebrate the unity we have in Christ!
WHAT TO EXPECT
We are a diverse, vibrant, welcoming community. Together we nurture each other's faith, support one another, and learn alongside each other.
REV. LESLIE DALSTRA
Greetings! I am so glad that you found your way to this page! If you are discerning what faith community will be the right fit for you, please know that I would love to have a conversation with you.
I am passionate about serving God and partnering with others to serve alongside. I love hiking, taking walks with my awesome husband Dan and our dog Naomi. My nose is often in a number of books and try as I might, I always seem to navigate back to books about ministry and the church.
Join me on Wednesday on our FB page for guided meditations and a weekly devotion.
