Rev. Leslie Dalstra
I’m so glad that you have found your way to this page on our congregation’s web site! If you are discerning what faith community will be the right fit for you, please know that I am open to having conversation to help navigate you in the right direction. If you are not familiar with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), please also check out our denomination’s web site, www.disciples.org to learn more about the restoration movement that we are part of.
I am passionate about serving God and partnering with others to serve alongside of. When I am not out meeting people, connecting and having meaningful conversations, I am either walking my puppy, taking a yoga class, gardening or reading. My nose is often in a number of books and try as I might, I always seems to navigate back to books about ministry and scripture.
I am married to my fabulous husband Dan Dalstra, who is a rock star photographer! I have two children Eva and Harry along with two dogs Ainsley and Naomi. Our house is rarely quiet and often busy!
I am a native of St. Louis, Missouri. I attended Indiana University for my undergraduate studies where I earned a BA with a double major in Religious Studies and History (with honors). My junior year was spent in Canterbury, England at the University of Kent. I attended Eden Theological Seminary for my Masters of Divinity degree and was ordained in the Mid-America Region at Webster Groves Christian Church in May of 1999. I have served churches in Missouri and Texas (most recently El Paso) and am glad to be starting a new ministry here at FCC Fort Madison!
