Rev.
John Simpson began ministry in 1993.
He received his B.A. degree from
Culver-Stockton College in December,
1995 and graduated with a Master of
Divinity degree from Christian
Theological Seminary in May, 1999.
John was ordained by the Christian
Church (Disciples of Christ) in August
of that same year. John brings a
musical background to his ministry at
First Christian, playing guitar,
keyboards, drums and singing in the
TBFC Band, the praise band at the
Contemporary Service on Sunday
mornings. John is a "second
career" minister, having worked
as a piano technician and in retail
management prior to answering his call
to ministry. John is married, and he
and his wife, Julie have two children,
Jennie, 16 and Ross, 14. The family
cat (Big Boy) and dog (Mr. Lucas, aka,
"Bob") round out the members
of the Simpson household. John, who
was raised near Montrose, Iowa and
graduated Central Lee High School,
came to Fort Madison in March of
2001.
