The view of the church's Chapel entrance (and new roof) from Central Park.
First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) resides at the corner of 10th Street and Avenue F. The newer section (to the left in the photo above) was built in 1958. A major renovation to the older, educational wing of the building was completed in 1975.
The Narthex of First Christian, with coffee house style tables for the coffee fellowships we have between services and after the 10:15 service. Many people gather during this time to visit with their friends and church family.
Our beautiful sanctuary in the newer addition. This sanctuary is a popular location for many weddings. We are blessed with a wonderful pipe organ and a Kawai grand piano. The sanctuary seats approximately 275 people. This photo was taken from the balcony.
Along each side of the sanctuary are beautiful stained glass windows that tell the story of Christ's birth, ministry, death, and resurrection. This window remembers the story of Jesus welcoming the little children.
This beautiful stained glass window is from the old church and is now in the entry to the Avenue F (Chapel) entrance.

This window graces our chapel and is also from the old church. Our chapel seats approximately 35-40 people and provides an excellent location for smaller, more intimate weddings.

A gymnasium is on the third floor of the educational wing. In the past, the gymnasium had been partitioned to create classroom space, but the gym was restored to it's original purpose during the remodeling done in 1975. This part of our facility is rented for use by local groups wishing to play basketball or volleyball. Youth league basketball teams also practice in this facility during the winter months.

Our Fellowship Hall, in the basement below the sanctuary, seats just over 100 people and contains this intimate meeting/lounge area in one corner of the room.
Recent additions to our kitchen area include two new dishwashers.

A carpeted nursery awaits young children on Sunday morning. The mural on the wall was added in 2005 through moneys received from the Campbell-Stone endowment fund of the church. Three beautiful murals were painted by members of the church and a hired artist.

Jesus calls his disciples from fishing on the Sea of Galilee in this mural in one of our classrooms on the lower level of the educational wing.
This mural remembers the story of the boy with the fishes and loaves to feed the 5,000.
